The Departed (A+)

I've already seen this film before it was shown and I have to see it again to verify the masterpiece that is "The Departed".

I am not a big fan of Martin Scorsese to begin with but i did love "The Aviator", "Raging Bull", "Goodfellas", "Mean Streets" and most especially one of my fave films of all time "Taxi Driver". His other films not mentioned range from good to bad like Casino and Gangs of New York. But I have got to say that Marty is in a complete new league in making this groundbreaking masterpiece. This is the kind of film that glues your eyes on the screen and your butt on the seat and doesn't let you leave even though you have to piss. I loved every bit of this film and probably may land as one of my all time faves.

Here are 5 reasons to love The Departed:

(1) The film does not aim to get Oscar voters attention. But i kinda hope that they do, they loved marty before and i hope the love doesn't die out now. He is very much deserving of a win already even though i haven't seen the other films in contention this year. I think he had already proved anough so that they could finally award him with a real statue. The film is more like an expression of artistry and one could see that Marty is on top of his game.

(2) Nicholson is just too damn good! It's good to see veteran actors on top of their game this year. Streep opened with a perfect villainous turn, Mirren was masterful in her queen work, and Nicholson, like Streep delivered a top notch memorable devil, more so, satanic, antagonist. Im not sure where to put him though, if he's the godfather or sexy beast.

(3) Damon, Wahlberg, Farmiga, Baldwin and most especially, sharing the best -in show with Nicholson, diCaprio gave performances that will be remembered. Damon gave a career high performance with this role. Wahlberg on the other hand stole every scene he was in, and ooh i love their foul mouths. Leonardo diCaprio's had finally proven that he is a bona fide adult actor, gone are the boyish looks, this turn was just perfect for him and he was perfect in it.

(4) Schoonmaker's editing is pulse raising and keeps me on the edge of my seat.

(5) The film was actually far better than the original which i already love...

I don't care now what happens with this film, I loved it very much and fuck those cocksuckers who can't fucking see this as a fucking masterpiece. ooh my mouth tingles in this kind of language ehehhehe...
